Dougal has been Head of Digital Experience and Engagement at Leeds Beckett University for the past seven years and is responsible for the delivery of all of their public digital outputs and online recruitment marketing. His time there has included two rebrands, one new CMS implementation, one complete site rebuild, one mobile app, numerous online campaigns and seven A-Level results day which nearly killed him. In 2017 Leeds Beckett were the first University in the world to offer places through clearing using a chatbot and in 2018 expanded to using Amazon Alexa speech technology to do the same, followed by Google Home in 2019.

Outside of the University he is slightly obsessed with Sheffield United and has more pairs of trainers than JD Sports.
